Phota 4.2
- New Features
With Photo 4.2, album photos can optionally be shown within Picture
Frames, a new Tower Gallery has been introduced, and Phota screen
displays can be continuously shared with other programs through the Spout
system. See below for further details:
- Picture Frames => Album Photos can now
optionally be shown within decorative Picture Frames. Click an
Album Photo (or hit the Up Arrow key) to view the image as a framed full-screen
enlargement. If a photo is larger than
the framed image, the Up Arrow can be clicked again to show it without a frame,
and again to show the scrollable full-sized photo. (Hit the Down Arrow key
to reverse these operations.)
The Album Appearance screen
includes options to control how Picture Frames are used. A specific
Picture Frame image can be chosen, or set Vary Frames By Page or
Vary Frames By Photo to change Frames with each Album page or
photo. Just select No Frames if you prefer to not show Frames
(which might allow displayed photos to be sized slightly larger). A Picture
Frame Width slider is available to adjust the relative thickness of
Frames. The Gallery Options screen also provides options for
how Picture Frames are used within 3D Galleries.
- Tower Gallery => The new
Tower Gallery exhibits
Album photos rising progressively upward along the walls of a tall circular
structure. When Explore is activated, the Tower is entered
through a door at the bottom, and then a central spiral staircase is
climbed. While stepping up along the staircase, the viewer pauses before each
photo, and a full-screen enlargement of that image is displayed. Finally,
near the top of the Tower, the steps climb toward the exit door, which leads
to the Next Gallery.
As with the other Galleries, it's also possible to use keyboard commands
to manually travel around a Tower, to look up or down, and to levitate upward
or downward. A photo can be clicked to view a full-screen enlargement.
The structure and appearance characteristics of Galleries can be configured
through the Gallery Options
screen.
- Spout Out => It is now possible to
continuously share Phota screen displays with other programs that are equipped
to receive them. When Spout Out is toggled on, Phota becomes a
Spout Sender, continuously making its screen displays available to other
programs that can be Spout Receivers, such as Resolume and
Mad Mapper. This capability might be useful to VeeJays and other
performance artists. The Spout Out option can be found under the
VJ Menu.
