Kaleider 5.6 introduces a new Equilateral Triangle Mirror variety, along with a large selection of pre-defined Mirror Patterns.  Also, It's now possible to precisely adjust the positioning of rendered effects.  And many more miscellaneous improvements.  Further details follow:  (Also see Kaleider 5.6.1 and Kaleider 5.6.2)

• Equilateral Triangle Mirrors =>  The
   
   
   
  Kaleider Mirroring feature now includes a new class of equilateral triangle shaped Mirrors.  Each of the Mirror varieties has unique characteristics, and provides it's own particular possibilities.  Equilateral Triangle Mirrors tend to produce 3 or 6-sided elements, that have a sort of elongated diagonal symmetry, sometimes creating honeycomb-like patterns.

  As with Rectangle, Diamond and Right Triangle Mirrors, it's possible to create custom designed Equilateral Triangle Mirrors (click the button at the bottom-left of the Mirrors panel to begin the process).  And of course there is also a large collection of pre-defined Equilateral Triangle Mirror Patterns (click the bottom-right button of the Mirrors panel for a menu).  Mirror Transforms can be specified to alter the reflection properties of Mirrors in various ways, sometimes producing unusual, often unexpected effect variations.

  NOTE:  If you are using your own saved Configuration Files, you might want to update them to include the new Equilateral Triangle Mirror Patterns, (under the Mirrors tab of the Kaleider Configuration screen), so that those effects might be selected with Random Effects and Automatic Effects.
  

• Adjust Controls =>  The old Scale/Rotate Controls panel has been expanded to include Tile Positioning controls, along with the existing Scaling and Rotation controls.  The button on Edit Tools has been replaced with the button, which can be clicked to toggle the Adjust Controls panel on/off.

  The current position of a rendered effect Tile and any Image Shifts are shown, along with the resulting net Tile Position.  The Tile X/Y and the Image Shift X/Y values can be altered to precisely specify the relative position of the effect Tile within the source image and the display window.  Click Update to apply any changes.  Click Reset to set the net Tile Pos X/Y values as the Tile X/Y position and set the Image Shift X/Y values to zero.
  

• Tile Outlines =>  Somewhat related to
  
  
  the Tile Positioning capability described above, is the information that is now shown when the Tile Outline option is toggled on.  Tile positioning, size, rotation and scaling data is displayed within the Tile Outline, as can be seen with this sample image.  (Note that turning off the Center option can make it easier to visualize how the effect is rendered within its shape to create a Tile.)  The Adjust Controls panel is available to make adjustments to these values whenever desired.

  The Shift Mode drop-down box on Edit Tools can be used to specify how mouse movements can alter the relative positioning of the effect Tile and the source image.  The possible Shift Modes are:  Tile to move the Tile, Image to 'virtually' shift the source image (while keeping the Tile stationary), or Pattern which moves both the Tile and the source image in tandem.  The Outline option can be helpful with understanding how these Shift Modes operate.
  

Kaleider 5.6.2 

Kaleider 5.6.2 mostly dealt with improvements and fixes to the Video Capture process.  The Video Options screen was redesigned after removing the obsolete Automatically Adjust Capture Timing option.
