- New Features
Version 1.5 is intended to finally make Liquib fully compliant with Windows
Vista. It also includes major improvements to the Video feature.
Here's a brief overview:
- Vista Compliance => Although
Liquib previously ran on Vista without serious problems, it could not be
considered truly 'compliant' with Vista UAC (User Account Control) and 'Least-Privileged
User' principles. With this version, Administrator capability is no longer required
(except to run the installer program), so people shouldn't be pestered by annoying
Vista security prompts. Configurable options and parameters are stored at the
User level in the Registry, and data files (images, audios, etc.) are stored
in Application Data areas (rather than in the Program Files directory).
Video Improvements => The Liquib
Video feature, introduced with
Version 1.4, has been greatly enhanced. Besides AVI format files, Windows Media
(WMV) videos can also be created. Multiple Video Options files can be saved and loaded, allowing for
storage of customized sets of video parameters that might be used in different
situations. For example, there might be options for small, low-quality videos
that would quickly load on a website, options for large-resolution, high-quality videos
that will be used for producing DVDs, etc.
It's also possible to capture Liquib action as sequences of
still image files, which can then be played as animations with the
Image Sequence Player. Video
files can also be recorded from the Image Sequence Player while playing
animations, which provides much more precise control over timing and might result
in higher quality Videos.
