Ironically, this Kaleider Mandala Mode image was rendered from a photo of a Mandala sand painting at the Denver Art Museum.  The effect was done with a Square Slice Kaleidoscope with the slice set to an acute angle (6.43°).  The possible variations of a single effect on a particular source image are vast -- another, with the tiles just slightly shifted, is shown below.
