Kaleidoscopic Art

The artist Vince Giuliano is a pioneer in the Art KOU KOU movement.  To a non-artist like myself, Art KOU KOU seems to be characterized by a restructuring of the 'real' world to convey meanings or feelings, but the quote below, (lifted from Vince's website), describes it far better:

"The essence of Art KOU KOU is the facile selective re-fractalization of reality to represent its alternative planes. To achieve this re-fractalization without effort and under precise artistic control, Art KOU KOU draws upon a new technological hybrid of traditional painting, photography, a full gamut of mathematically-based digital image manipulation technologies, and xerography.  It is an art form appropriate to these times when the real and the virtual increasingly blend into each other.  It is an art form that has become practical only in the last few years, an art form still largely unexplored and unknown to most traditional artists."
Kaleider is just one of the many tools that Vince utilizes in the production of his art.  He inventively combines symmetry elements from Kaleider with other manipulation techniques, color shifts and image fragments.  The resulting images are always interesting, sometimes thought-provoking, and often evoke a mood or send a message.  Please take some time to explore and enjoy Vince's website, and be sure to visit his Kaleidoscope Art, Surrealist Art, Places That Never and Surreal Passageways Galleries, which feature works derived from Kaleider renderings!

Vince Giuliano Art

Arbelain is an artist who resides in Spain.  He has a very distinctive style that combines many different parts to create wholes that are balanced and cohesive.  Some of his work reminds me of paintings by the old Flemish artist Hieronymus Bosch, but his style and techniques are constantly changing and evolving, so it is impossible to pin him down and unfair to categorize his work.  I can't always figure out what he is trying to say with an image, but I have the feeling that it must be profound, and it's somehow rewarding just to contemplate it.  As with Vince mentioned above, Kaleider is just one of many resources that Arbelain employs to produce his art.  He cleverly weaves Kaleider manipulations into a picture to create impressions of symmetry and perspective.  Here are a few image links to examples of his art works posted on the Renderosity website:
